Just a reminder that after our brief hibernation, the short story workshop will be back up and running on January 27th.
The short story workshop is a great opportunity for local writers to submit their work and get feedback from their peers. You DO NOT have to be a member to submit, and you DO NOT need to submit material to attend. We will collect submissions for January’s workshop from 1/13/16 through 1/20/16. After that we will post the selected stories to the website, and we encourage anyone and everyone to come discuss them at the workshop. Check out our workshop guidelines for more info.
There will be NO NOVEL WORKSHOP in January, but it will be returning soon. So novel writers, stay tuned for more info regarding that.
As for the new location, we’ll be meeting on the “Lobby” floor of the Double Tree Suites hotel (50 S Front St. Columbus 43215). The first six floors of the building are a parking garage, and the floor above that is marked “Lobby”—that’s where we’ll be. On that floor is a swanky pub/restaurant called the Capital Club, the owners of which were nice enough to let us reserve one of their rooms. A CCC correspondent will be standing dutifully at the elevator, but if you find yourself lost, just ask for Arthur’s Pub, which is the name of the specific room we’ll be meeting in.
You can park either in the aforementioned parking garage or at the meters right outside the building on Front St. If you’re parked in the garage, you don’t need to leave the building, simply find the elevator and take it up to the floor marked “Lobby.” If you’re on the street, go through the sliding doors and the elevators will be on your right.
Side-note: Since this is a pub, there are no outside food or beverages allowed. HOWEVER, you’re more than welcome to utilize said pub, and happy hour is from 4–7pm.
