Book Giveaway: For the Road

I constantly find myself running out of reading time, and as a remedy to this problem I’veDocument10 taken to carrying a book with me everywhere. You never know when you’re going to get to your next meeting twenty minutes early, or your bus is running late, or you just need to take a break from reality.

That’s the great thing about short stories. If you have 15-20 minutes, you have time to get away to another place, to be another person, and be back in time to get to the next thing on your to-do list.

If you’re looking for your next great read, check out this Goodreads Giveaway. We’re giving away five paperback copies of our latest anthology, For the Road: Short Stories of America’s Highways. (The book sells on Amazon.com for $14.95.)

Enter to win your free copy of For the Road here.

This anthology features short stories by ten authors from around the country. From bizarre travelling companions, to ghost stories, to madness described in eloquent prose, For the Road has a little something for everyone.

If you’re expecting tales of good Samaritans and happy travelers, you may want to take another route. For the Road explores the spectacular fear we hold for the unknown, as embodied by the lonesome highway. Seasoned travelers may laugh at the villains and specters within these pages, while homebodies will make sure to lock their doors a little earlier in the evening.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

For the Road Anthology to be Released Dec. 10

Columbus, Ohio — Columbus Creative Cooperative is proud to announce the release of its latest anthology, For the Road: Short Stories of America’s Highways.

For the Road takes readers into the minds of ten exceptional authors, collecting tales from the highway. From literary fiction, to science fiction and ghost stories, CCC’s new anthology examines the world from hearth and home.

“One thing that’s really excited me about this book is the variety of genres and interests it represents,” said Brad Pauquette, CCC director. “I think it’s one of the best anthologies our members have produced so far.”

The public is invited to celebrate the anthology’s launch at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at the Claddagh Irish Pub, 585 S. Front Street, Columbus.
