We’re excited to announce that OWA will now be offering a new workshop opportunity! Please read the following instructions for participation carefully as this group will follow a different format than our existing peer critique group.

To participate in our monthly 1k Club:
-
Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter. We will announce the theme at the beginning of each month.
-
Write a micro, flash, or poetry piece of less than 1,000 words with your best interpretation of the theme.
-
Submit your piece during our open submissions period and be sure to use the File Share tab on our website to read and prepare feedback for others.
-
You do NOT have to submit a piece in order to attend the peer critique. You are more than welcome to come listen and learn or feel free to read the pieces and provide feedback. You
DO need to RSVP by emailing us at 1kclub@ohiowriters.org to receive the Zoom instruction email for attending the meeting.
Appropriate submissions for this critique will be stand-alone works less than 1,000 words, at least broadly related to the monthly theme, and saved as a PDF. Your name and word count should be included in the document.
What we’re NOT looking for: erotica, excessive, purposeless gore, previously written works (all submissions should be written after the announcement of the theme), and chapters/selections of larger works.
