The kids are back in school, the pool is closing, and it’s time to get back to work!

Our day-long mini-retreats will support and enrich you as a writer this fall.

Spend a day with like-minded people, make some new friends, and kickstart your writing.

These retreats will be hosted at inspiring locations around Zanesville, Ohio, which is just a quick 60 minute jaunt east of Columbus on I-70. Close enough to drive both ways in one day, far enough to feel like you’re really away.

You may attend any number of these that you wish.

The Art of Copywriting — September 7 (COMPLETE) — Businesses and marketing agencies are in constant need of qualified people to write great content—from postcard mailers to social media marketing, blogs, and so much more!

The Business of Copywriting — October 12 (COMPLETE) — How do you build a client base, promote your work, and manage the business of copywriting? Our guests will teach you how to find the right work, maintain great relationships with your clients, and how to keep yourself organized for success.

Open Write-In — November 2 (COMPLETE) — We’ll provide desk space and a catered lunch (as well as drinks and snacks all day) at a beautiful, inspiring modern art gallery. You’ll have a full day to dig into your project with all of your needs met and no one bothering you. Enjoy this perfect day to get out of town and get some serious work done.

Dialogue Workshop — December 7 — No matter how long you've been writing, there is almost always room for improvement in your dialogue. We're going to learn techniques and exercises to improve the dialogue in your work, and reinforce those lessons with activities and peer critique. Let's move from hokey to "authentic!"

These retreats cost $50 each (only $40 for OWA Writer and Patron members).

**Note that food and beverages are only included for the November 2 Open Write-In. For all other retreats, we will provide coffee and water throughout the day and break for lunch for an hour at noon.

*OWA Writer and Patron Members save $10 per retreat!

Time to get away so that you can accomplish your goals.
