Did you know that November is National Novel Writing Month? (NaNoWriMo for short). The idea is to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel in one month.
Thousands of people attempt it each year. It’s a great opportunity to finally put that idea you’ve got into motion, and start getting some words onto paper.
Columbus Creative Cooperative will be holding a special write-in on November. 7 at Via Vecchia Winery, from 7pm to 9:30pm. Find all of the details on Facebook.
What’s a write-in? A write-in is when everyone brings their laptops, pens, pencils, paper, thesauri (?), etc. together and just writes.
At this particular write-in, we’ll have space for concentrated writing, as well as group discussion. We’ll provide some snacks, prizes for people who make the word count goal for the evening, and you’ll also be able to purchase drinks (alcoholic and non) from Via Vecchia, including their amazing wine.
The event is free (other than drinks, and possibly parking, depending on your luck). All we ask is that if you come, come prepared to write (no spectators or lollygaggers please).
Come on out, meet some other writers, and let the community inspire your writing to greater word count. If you made a resolution about that novel last New Year’s, November might be your last shot. 🙂
