August Writing Workshop - Submissions Are Open

Greetings Ohio Writers,

Submissions are open for the August 3 writing workshop.

Here's a TLDR:

Submission Deadline: by end-of-day Monday, July 24

Workshop Date: August 3, 2023, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Location: Columbus Metropolitan Library - 96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus, OH 43215 - Meeting Room 1C | You may also attend virtually over Zoom

Please send submissions in PDF form to workshops@ohiowriters.org by end-of-day Monday, July 24. You may submit a short story, novel excerpt, essay, poetry, or anything else you'd like feedback on. Please limit your submissions to 7,000 words, and include a word count at the top of the document.

We will accept the first 7 submissions. You must be present either in person or online to receive feedback, so only submit if you're confident you can attend. You can find the submissions, once we post them, on our website under Workshops > File Share.

If you don’t have a piece but would like to attend, please email us at workshops@ohiowriters.org or RSVP online to let us know. We will make the materials available at least a week prior to the workshop, and will email the Zoom link on August 3 to those who submit/RSVP.

It's a hybrid workshop, so you can attend either in person or online via Zoom. The in-person portion will be held at Columbus Metropolitan Library in meeting room 1C starting at 6:30 p.m. 1C is on the first floor, just off the main entrance to the library. Garage parking costs $1.

Thanks!

Hey folks - the link for the format of modern manuscript in your instructions for submission is not a valid address. I am getting ready to submit my writing for the workshop - can you give me the skinny on format please? Thanks - Pam Spence - pammy.spence@gmail.com

Sorry about the bad link. Basically we just want it to be double spaced and in a common font like Times New Roman, so it's easily readable.
